How to Graduate
For the MCS Major:
- Update your MCS program sheet. This is the same Google sheet from when you declared your major.
- Make sure it is in Google drive and shared with Amanda (aekuhn [at] stanford.edu (aekuhn[at]stanford[dot]edu)) and LaShanette (lbreazel [at] stanford.edu (lbreazel[at]stanford[dot]edu)). Please give them both editing access.
- Fill in the grade for classes you have already taken.
- Highlight the classes you plan to take in the future. Make note of the quarter and year in which you plan to take those classes.
- Make sure everything on your program sheet is up-to-date and accurate.
- Make sure you have satisfied all the requirements specified in the Bulletin at the time the major was declared.
- At least two quarters before you intend to graduate, schedule a meeting with our SSO (Amanda) to go over it.
- If you plan to graduate in 2023-2024 academic year, the deadlines for this meeting are as follows:
- Autumn 20023 and Winter 2024 graduates, please meet with Amanda by October 6.
- Spring 2024 graduates, please meet with Amanda by November 10.
- Summer 2024 graduates, please meet with Amanda or LaShanette by February 12.
- If you plan to graduate in 2023-2024 academic year, the deadlines for this meeting are as follows:
- Be on the lookout for an email from our student services team about information for our program’s commencement ceremony. We typically send this email in March, and it will include a required participation survey.
Also:
- Meet with your VPUE academic advisor to make sure you’re on track in completing all of your university requirements (WAYS, etc.). If you have a double major or minor, check in with someone from your other program(s) to make sure you’re on track for those requirements too.
- Apply to graduate in Axess
- The Major-Minor and Multiple Major Course Approval eForm (available in the eForms portal in the Student tab in Axess) is required for graduation for students with a minor or multiple majors. The form should be submitted electronically by the final study list deadline of the quarter of intended graduation.
- Complete Stanford’s Graduation Checklist.
